You're invited to join me on my next solo photography exhibition at Godot Ghent. It will be a showcase of past-splendour, derelict hospitals, mothballed monasteries, dormant structures & everything in between. The result of the intangible desire to explore the unknown and unseen. The expo will run from the 9th of February until the 18th of March. More details on Facebook!
I will be handing out a 45x30 cm glossy print, mounted on dibond, signed & numbered in addition to the vernissage. Like us and you're on!
I participated in the National Geographic Photography Contest 2011. Two of my images have been picked as the editor's favorite submissions!
Three of my pictures have been selected for the "CONTRASTS" photo exhibition at Tour & Taxis in Brussels. Grand opening + nocturne is this Friday, 18/11. You're down?
Verlaten Plekken, Vergeten Stemmen was the concept of my first solo exhibition at Theater aan Zee in Oostende, last year. This year Theater aan Zee will feature the same exhibition, but this time with a book on top!
Twenty of my pictures are shown in an outdoor expo at the Zeeheldenplein in Oostende whereas the book is being sold in the shops. I'm handing out 5 copies of this book, for free. Like us on Facebook and you're on!
Cannes. Le rendez-vous glamour de toutes les stars de la planète c'est sur La Croisette. The 58th International Cannes Lions Festival is kicking in, making it the world's biggest global meetup for all things creative. It was great news when the jury informed me that one of my pictures made it onto the shortlist of the Cannes Also contest. But it was even greater news when that same jury informed me about being one of the winning entries. C'est pas mal, ça!
All winning entries (eleven pictures in total) will be put on display in The Big Book: a huge life size installation with giant pages, weighing in at a smashing 8 tons, measuring 4 meter wide and 2,5 meter high. It will be shown outside the Palais des Festivals in open air. Drop by!
Hi! I'm Reginald. .
I'm an urban explorer
I visit abandoned places. I have a weak spot for dormant structures, mothballed monasteries, derelict castles, defunct powerstations and everything in between.
The reverb of time is my vantage point.
Yay! Decay!
I scout the unknown and unseen. I know from my exploring escapades which path to take, but sometimes I will choose another. Making big drops into oblivion. Ignorance is bliss, someone once told me.
It's a childhood thing. I've been venturing down the yellow brick road known as "Forsaken" since the early eighties. I'm halfway home.
I make photographs. Capturing the sheer momentum of a fragile abandonment. Hoping to inspire and motivate via my actions. And lack of actions. Not because urban photography is currently en vogue.
And remember. Reach for the moon - and if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
